Our Mission Statement

"To provide college students an alternative medium for purchasing textbooks at an affordable price."

This site was created by two recent college graduates of Kennesaw State University. We came up with the concept a few years ago, but we lacked the knowledge and resources to make this site a reality. The main goal of this project was to figure out how to help students save money on their books, but it became so much more.

In the Spring of 2007 Book-back.com went live at Kennesaw State University. We saw an immediate response from the student population. Hundreds of people signed up and began using the site. We gave students a place to buy and sell textbooks for FREE. There was no shipping or handling fees, because you could just meet up with the buyer or seller on campus. Prices for textbooks became more reasonable and affordable, because the students set the price for books, not the bookstore.

Soon people began asking us for other services like book requesting, being able to sell other things besides books, and/or roommate finders just to name a few. So we sat down and figured out what the updates were going to include. We have become a Full-fledged Online Billboard. All FREE of course!

Current Updates Include the Following

1. Book Request: This update allows users to be notified via email when the book they could not find has become available within the system.
   
   
   
2. Teacher Grading: It is now possible to check the ratings of your teachers here at Mybookback.com. The grades and comments are posted by past students. You should always know the rating of a teacher you are going to take. Your GPA depends on it.
   
   


3. Job Finder: This update allows users and/or companies to post FREE job listings directly aimed at college students (You may find paid internships here as well).
   
   


4. Roommate Finder: With the Roommate Finder update you can find a room for rent on or off campus or someone that is looking for a room. You can also post your own listing for FREE if you need to rent a room out or if you want to become someone's roommate.
   
   


5. Friends Finder: This update let you easily search for and find friends and students on Mybookback.com. By using the Friends Finder you can keep in touch with other students, communicate about any activity or transaction, check out what they are selling, and even see what they are looking for?

6. Scholarships/Internship Finder: With this update, organizations, schools and/or other institutions can post their listings for FREE. Of course, we will try to update the scholarship listings as quickly as possible with as many RSS feeds as we can possibly find.
   
   


7. Things for Sale: With this update you will be able to buy and sell almost anything you want. All postings are completely FREE of charge. This isn't eBay though. No bidding; no waiting, no shipping: just direct selling and buying! Computers,tickets, bikes, video games, whatever you like, just make sure it is within the guidelines our TOS.
   
   


8. Personal Flyers(or advertisements): We welcome anybody that would like to promote any event or activity to use this function. These advertisements will appear on most pages of the website on the left column. You can choose to have these advertisements appear on your campus only or on every college campus available within the system. Use this option to advertise a party, or wish someone a happy birthday, or what ever else you can think of, just make sure it is within the guidelines of our TOS.
   
   


9. Our Supporters/Organizations: We welcome any local businesses and/or school organizations to submit their advertisements to us for free postings. This includes things like coupons, menus, company events, or whatever it may be. If you would like your business or organization to have free advertisements please Contact Us with your requests.
   
   


10. Current News Updates from Your Campus: RSS feeds from your local schools will keep you up-to-date on what's going on at your local campus.
    
    


11. Flyers: We welcome anybody that would like to promote any event or activity to use this function. These free advertisements will appear on most pages of the website on the left column. You can choose to have these advertisements appear on your campus only or on every college campus available within the system.
    
    


12. Ability to Add schools to our Database: As of November 1, 2008, we have 16 schools in our system. However, we are constantly adding new schools, and we can add more schools anytime we want at your request. Please be aware that certain schools may not apply!
    
    


13. Campus Administrator Opportunities available: In the near future we will be looking for committed individuals that will help us expand to new schools and states. Administrators are given full control of schools of their choice. The job is simple: keep the site up-to-date, answer users emails, screen advertisements, and advertise on your local campus which means getting all of your clubs and organizations involved.
